I got caught speeding.

Only 44mph on a 30mph road. It was after 9pm, raining, non-residential area, new camera so it caught me without warning. Bloody extortionists... Good thing I wasn't doing my usual 55-60mph...

Extortion...? Were you being sarcastic? You were 14 miles an hour over the speed limit you know...

It's very easy to think that you're not going that fast, because it doesn't feel that way when you're driving.
But look at a car from the outside, from a pedestrian's, or a cyclists view and the speed is only too evident. Cyclists go out whether it's raining or not; and sometimes they're very hard to spot.

We should all try and obey the speed limit.

I am safe. I've been driving for nearly 5 years, on and off, and the only damage I've done to any car is my own, and even that was while I was parking near my house and I banged the bumper into a bollard :-\... I nearly always abide by speed laws too, just like th rest of the driving population. Show me someone who says he's never broke the speed limit and I'll show you a liar! The thing is I'm good with unfamiliar roads, very cautios and careful masha'Allah but I get a bit bored crawling on roads I'm familiar with. Anyway I'm hoping I don't get points.
